Hilary A.C. Fraser (Updated Bio 25/05/24)
At the time of the1964 Class re-union (1989), I was in
the Physics Department of St. Mirin’s and St. Margaret’s School in
Paisley. That school effectively closed in 1990 and I thought I was
winding down in accepting a part-time post at St. Columba’s, a private
school in Kilmacolm. However this was not to be as the Head of
Physics soon retired on medical grounds and I found myself in his very
full-time post. I retired from there in June 2004.
I returned briefly to teaching Biology for a couple of years
in Corseford Special school in Johnstone. They were very desperate!
I carried on a little work for the SQA but I am now enjoying
life mostly as a full-time granny. I am now physically smaller than 6 large grandchildren, and bigger than one.
I thought retirement might allow me to take up golf again but
I have not got round to that yet. I am
trying to keep cycling and still hill-walk a bit. I have about 100 Munros
ticked but doubt if I’ll live long enough to complete them.
I am still learning to
play bridge, and managing my personal decline reasonably so far, while wondering how I ever had time to work.
