50th Anniversary Reunion June 2014 - Programme

Please note that we have been advised by the University that parking is very difficult, and that it is recommended to use public transport or taxi.

Tuesday 17th June

Dress code suggested is      Daytime:  Smart Casual – jacket with/without tie. 
                                             Evening:  Same (or lounge suit if preferred)

12 Noon to 2.00pm             Gather and 'Meet and Greet' in One A, The Square, just along from the University Chapel.
                                
           Lunch will be available for people to buy as they wish (Cash only please)

2.30pm to 4.00pm              Tour of the School of Physics and Astronomy (Optional for partners)
                                            Partners may wish, for example, to visit the Hunterian Art Gallery and/or Hunterian Museum

4.00pm to 6.30pm              Free Time

6.30pm                              Meet for Group Photograph at 6.30pm prompt please at Glasgow University Union
                                          prior to Welcoming Drinks and Dinner in the Bridie Library Suite

7.30pm to 9.30pm              Dinner followed by a Guest Speaker

9.30pm till late                     Informal "mingling"


Wednesday 18th June – University Commemoration Day


The University will contact colleagues by Email in April, with a formal invitation.
Attendance is optional for each of the 3 events.
Dress code as advised by the University is lounge suit.

9.45am to 10.15am            Service for the Commemoration of Benefactors in the University Chapel.

11.00am to 12.15pm          Honorary graduation ceremony in the Bute Hall, followed by a drinks reception in the Quadrangles.

1.00pm to 3.00pm approx.  Commemoration Day Lunch in the Hunter Halls (cost £30 per person).
                                             Table(s) for our group will be arranged

Dependent upon interest, alternative activities may be arranged for the day.
